With only a few weeks until Valentine’s Day, couples are scrambling to come up with romantic ways to spend the day. Gifts are nice but doing something memorable is what makes the day special for most couples. Scrap the traditional dinner and dancing an instead choose one of these romantic ideas that will make this February 14 a day to be remembered.
Step 1: Take a couple’s cooking class that features romantic foods like pasta and shared desserts. Enjoy the cuisine at a table for two lit by candlelight.
Step 2: Make it a spa day, enjoying a couple’s massage, facial, mud treatment, and other pampering. Find a spa that offers lodging and turn it into a romantic weekend for two, complete with healthy food and peace and quiet.
Step 3: If you live in a warm climate, charter a sailboat, pack a lunch, and spend a day cruising the sparkling water, swimming, and basking in the sunshine. Return at night so you can see the lit coastline from offshore, creating a cozy feeling.
Step 4: Those who call a colder climate home can pack hot cocoa and sweet treats and head to a local frozen pond for some ice-skating. Bundling up and holding hands while skating in the fresh air is enough to make anyone feel romantic.
Step 5: Rent a chalet in a ski town and snuggle by the fire, roasting marshmallows and sipping cider. If it snows, all the better- the atmosphere will be even more romantic. If you do not enjoy skiing, go snowshoeing or take a hike on a mountain trail.
Step 6: If you live near a historic town, find out if it offers carriage rides for the holiday. Rent a carriage, take a blanket and some warm beverages, and enjoy a beautiful ride throughout town.
