2 eggs
1 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (melted)
11/2 cups chocolate chunks
(Optional instead of 1 ½ cups Chocolate chunks: 1 cup chocolate chunks and ½ cup walnuts)
Step one:
Preset the oven to 375°. Take out two cookie sheets and a large cooling rack.
Step two:
Place the 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips in a small metal bowl or pan within a medium sized pan filled with one inch of water. Turn the flame on low and allow the chips to melt as the water begins to boil. Let them melt and then remove the small bowl and place it on a cool burner as you continue to mix the rest of the other ingredients.
Step three:
Using an electric bowl style mixer beat the butter and then add the eggs and sugar; beat them together until they are thoroughly mixed.
Step four:
Add vanilla extract, baking soda, salt and flour to the mixture while the beater is mixing the ingredients. Add the melted chocolate chips and mix the batter until it is completely smooth.
Step five:
Add the chocolate chunks to the batter and slowly mix them into the batter until they are consistently throughout the entire mixture.
Step six:
Create one-inch round cookie dough droppings and place them on the cookie sheets. Place them two inches apart. Place the cookie sheets into the oven. Place one on the top rack and one on a second rack. Turn the timer on for five minutes.
Step seven:
When the timer goes off after five minutes open the oven and switch the cookie sheets to be opposite racks and shut the oven and reset the timer for five minutes.
Step eight:
Remove the cookie sheets from the oven and place them on top of the stove. Set the timer for three minutes and allow them to cool on the cookie sheet.
Step nine:
Use a spatula to remove the cookies from the cookie sheet and place them on a waiting cooling rack. Allow them to cool for an hour before placing them into a container or jar.
Step ten:
Continue the same steps until all the cookie dough is baked.
